Candidate for Waterloo Region District School Board Trustee (English Public) — Cambridge & North Dumfries
I am honoured to put my name forward as a candidate for Waterloo Region District School Board Trustee because I believe in the transformative power of public education and the responsibility we share in ensuring every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
As a father of four children who attended Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) schools, I have experienced firsthand the dedication of educators, the importance of strong school communities, and the positive impact that a supportive learning environment can have on a child’s future. My personal journey as a parent has strengthened my commitment to advocating for students, supporting families, and working collaboratively with educators and community partners to build a stronger education system.
Education is one of the most important investments we make in our children and our communities. A strong public education system not only prepares students for academic success and future careers but also helps develop responsible citizens, strengthens families, and contributes to a more inclusive and prosperous society. Every student deserves access to a safe, welcoming, equitable, and supportive learning environment where they can discover their strengths and achieve their full potential.
Community Leadership and Engagement
My commitment to serving students, families, and the broader community has been demonstrated through years of volunteer leadership and community involvement. As Chair of the School Parent Council at Southwood Secondary School, I have worked closely with parents, students, educators, and school administration to strengthen communication, encourage collaboration, and support initiatives that enhance the student experience.

Professional Experience and Leadership Skills
As a Project Management Professional with extensive experience in planning, budgeting, resource management, stakeholder engagement, and accountable decision-making, I bring valuable skills that support effective governance and responsible stewardship of public resources.
Throughout my professional career in project coordination, construction management, restoration, and community development, I have managed complex projects from planning and budgeting through execution while maintaining a strong focus on quality, accountability, safety, and collaboration. These experiences have strengthened my ability to analyze challenges, evaluate options, manage resources responsibly, and make informed decisions based on facts and community needs.
My leadership approach is built on listening, transparency, respect, and service. I believe successful organizations and communities are created when people feel heard, valued, and included. As a multilingual community member fluent in English, Urdu, Punjabi, and Hindi, I value the diversity of Waterloo Region and recognize the importance of ensuring families from all backgrounds have opportunities to participate and contribute.
